ANNUAL FUND BIG GREEN CHAPTERS There are 14 regional chapters that exist and whose mission is to help grow and promote the mission of the Big Green Scholarship Foundation. Each chapter has a representative that coordinates everything from a simple game watching party to the fundraising effort in that area. The Big Green visits these areas on an annual basis through the Big Green Coaches Tour. Check out the map on this page to locate the chapter closest to you. COURTESY CAR PROGRAM Tri-State automobile dealers are able to support Marshall Athletics through the Big Green Courtesy Car Program. The car program reduces official travel and recruiting costs, contributes directly to fundraising efforts, enables athletic personnel to visit MU friends, fans, and alumni throughout the region, and aids in attracting and retaining quality personnel. Participating dealers receive special benefits and recognition for their support. Contact the Big Green office for more information. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM The Big Green continues to identify donors that own, operate or have access to rental units, single family homes, townhouses, lofts etc., that are willing to allow the Marshall University Department of Athletics to house new coaches and/or administrators. Normally periods of 30, 60 or 90 days are offered and donors who work with the Big Green to provide housing are eligible, pending board approval, to receive Gift- in-Kind credit. In the summer of 2014, Katie Kramer of Herd Swimming became the youngest American female to swim the Strait of Gibraltar. She was a Marshall University Yeager Scholar, a Rhodes Scholar candidate and just graduated with her MBA degree Softball Head Coach Shonda Stanton led her team to three consecutive C-USA Championship games, bringing home the title in 2013. Marshall triple jumper Jasia Richardson set a new school record, and at the time held the top mark in the country with a leap of 13.56 meters. Big Green Member, No one has ever doubted the passion and commitment of true Thundering Herd fans. We wanted to show a small token of appreciation to you for that loyalty with this membership packet. As we enter the 2015-16 athletic year, we bring with us momentum, in both championship performance and academic achievement, that all our Big Green members have had a significant role in. Our goal is to once again play for championships in all sports. This was realized in 2014 with Doc Holliday’s team bringing the C-USA championship game and trophy back to Huntington. Our fans showed up in full force at the Boca Raton Bowl where we won our third bowl game in the last four years. The Vision Campaign has created state-of-the-art facilities for all of our programs. With the completion of the Chris Cline Athletic Complex, our student-athletes now have a first class venue to practice and compete in. It has been a game changer for all of our sports programs. Just as our coaches ask our athletes to “give 110%,” we have asked you to join in and do the same. Not only in the areas of financial support but also in fan support, referring people you know to join the Big Green and more. We are at a crossroads with Marshall University Athletics, and you have answered the call for the Herd in the past. We know we can count on you. Again, we thank you for your continued support of the Big Green Scholarship Foundation. It is truly appreciated and we look forward to another successful year of Marshall Athletics!
