GULLICKSON HALL IMPROVEMENTS Gullickson Hall, completed in 1961, is a three story building that has served as a practice facility for Marshall Athletics. Updates to Gullickson will create a state-of-the-art practice facility for the Herd. Renovations include: • Gymnasium • Athletes’ weight room • Offices HAL GREER STATUE Hal Greer was the first African- American student-athlete to play for Marshall University and made 71 appearances in a Herd jersey. A basketball legend at Marshall, Greer was an NBA champion, a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, and was inducted into the Marshall University Athletics Hall of Fame for his career in basketball and baseball in 1985. Greer was selected as one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history.
