Your Dream Wedding Event Sample Wedding Themes A NIGHT OF ELEGANCE After a coincidental meeting at the ER where Joann treated John for a twisted ankle, it wasn’t long after that they began envisioning their dream wedding. Deeming the evening a “Night of Elegance,” they had lobster tail and steak for a traditional, seated dinner, as well as a martini and wine bar for guests during cocktail hour. A string orchestra played on the plaza, while just inside the door guests were greeted by a photographer snapping pictures on the red carpet, complete with a Joan Rivers impersonator. The ballroom was donned in crystal and highlighted in crisp, clean colors, and a live band served as entertainment for the reception. PARTY LIKE IT’S 1999 Brian and Kellie met in 1999 at a green and white football game while attending Marshall University. With a shared love for the Herd and tailgating with friends, the Jones’ wanted to take their friends back to 1999. The couple opted for six different food stations including a dip station, mashed potato martini bar, ice cream sundae bar, sliders station, nacho bar and buffalo wings station. Tables were donned in green and white linens, and before the toast, guests joined in as the couple sang the Marshall University alma mater. Two DJs served as entertainment, and corn hole boards were set up as well. Every guest received a green and white foam finger to remember the evening. KENTUCKY DERBY (SPORT-THEMED) Both born in Kentucky and avid sports fans, Stephanie and Rob worked with their tour manager to create their dream “Kentucky Derby” wedding. Hoping to capture the excitement and class of the derby, the couple arrived by a horse-drawn carriage and guests donned the signature derby attire, including chic hats. They were seated in true derby fashion by infield (college friends), millionaire row (family), and grandstand (additional friends). Mint juleps, bourbon and whiskey were served at cocktail hour, and bets were placed on fun facts about the couple. The couple had a buffet-style meal where their guests could tune in to the races on the six big-screen televisions. The couple made their entrance to the tune of “My Old Kentucky Home,” and the room was donned in signature red roses. CHRISTMAS COMFORT With a shared love for the holidays, Jennifer and Steve decided on a Christmas theme for their big day. Staying within the allotted budget, their event planner helped transform the ballroom into their dream winter wonderland. Donned in decorated trees, wreaths, candy canes, mistletoe and poinsettias, the couple even had blowers to provide “snow” to the ambiance. Sporting Santa Claus hats, the bride, groom and their wedding party entered the reception to tables of comfort foods like honey- glazed ham, roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and mac and cheese. Spiked eggnog was served and a hot chocolate bar was set up for fun refreshments. The DJ played popular holiday music, and guests had the opportunity to take their photo with Santa Claus.
